However, bathroom lights have their specifics: you need to know which lamps to use and what level IP (humidity protection) is suitable for placing where. At Rendl light studio, experts will advise you on the selection and will advise you on exactly what to watch out for. “For the bathroom we definitely recommend to use specifically designed bathroom fixtures, with protection for humid environments, at least IP44 or higher”, says Robert Švejkar from Rendl. Pay attention to moisture protection All bathroom fixtures must be provided with an IP label indicating the degree of moisture protection. The IP code is a two-digit number. The first digit indicates the degree of protection against solid particles, and the second digit represents the degree of protection against liquids. We choose IP protection according to where we want to place the light fixtures. The bathroom space can be divided into four zones, indicating how likely and frequent contact with water is in these places. According to these criteria then we choose the right place for bathroom lamps. “In the shower or above it must be lights with a minimum IP of 65”, explains Robert Švejkar.
